Can you introduce Facilien to us? Where does the idea come from? Who is it for?

Facilien is an innovative service that facilitates the use of the internet safely and the connection with family and professional caregivers. Our simplified and multi-service internet platform Facilien (www.facilien.fr) offers adapted ergonomics. It offers various features notably to facilitate the well-being at home of elderly and vulnerable people:
– Communication with loved ones via message or video conference
– Management of personal services: contact with professional caregivers, access to schedules and invoices
– Support and digital assistance
– Access to trusted sites by interest centers
– Sharing and exchanging with other passionate subscribers on Facilien
– Shared calendar
– Quality content and expert articles

Marketed since January 2015 in the Alsace region, Facilien was born from the meeting of two associations, ABRAPA and Réseau APA, leaders in Alsace in personal aid and services. It also comes from a start-up, Hakisa.com, developing web 2.0 and 3.0 technology. This technology facilitates internet and digital usage.

Are seniors comfortable with technology?

We noticed that a large part of our users were people who already had an internet connection and a computer or tablet before registering on Facilien but who did not know or did not really dare to use it, for fear of " breaking something" or " doing it wrong". Facilien is therefore an ideal solution by offering a "marked", guided and secure use of the internet. It is reassuring for these novice and insecure seniors.

Why do people use the platform?

We notice that one of the primary motivations of our users is the desire to communicate more with their loved ones. The possibility of having video conversations remotely and sharing photos and messages very simply is therefore very appealing.
In addition to this personal motivation, people who choose Facilien are especially attracted and reassured by several points:
– The adapted ergonomics ("one button=one action") and ease of use allow novices to discover the internet simply. The platform being developed according to an "all-in-one" principle, users can quickly access, from their personalized space. The Facilien space allows access to everything that really interests them without having to "get lost" in the vast internet.
– Unlike many sites, the Facilien platform offers a private and secure space guaranteeing the protection of users' data. Likewise, the Facilien platform contains no advertising banners.
– Finally, Facilien users appreciate benefiting from assistance. They can be accompanied remotely by our teams, an associative e-volunteer or one of their relatives.

Concretely, what do you need to start using Facilien?

The Facilien platform is responsive design and is therefore accessible on all devices: computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
People wishing to create a Facilien account can subscribe according to 2 plans:
– A monthly subscription at €5/month, no commitment, cancellable at any time
– An annual subscription at €50/year, with 2 weeks trial then one year commitment
Thanks to the Facilien gift card, families also have the possibility to offer a subscription to the platform to one of their elders.

How do you wish to develop Facilien in the future?

Provident, medical monitoring and telemedicine solutions, generally called " e-health " will complement the offer in the near future. Indeed, Facilien wishes to expand its range and offer service packs including notably home automation, teleassistance and telemedicine.
